Grew up there. Like you observed it’s pretty, well kept, and always building new or maintaining what it’s got. There is lots to do but you’re correct that you’ll have to drive to near about everything; it is not a walkable suburb except very specific areas like the old town area you were at and bridge park across the river, which is where you walked to for that food court. Those are the most popular areas in Dublin because there’s plenty to walk to and do, once you drive there and park that is

It was spring/is now early summer so rain, heat, and humidity are common. March-May is usually the wettest with this early June being an outlier. Local superstition is that it will always be storming during the Memorial Tournament held at Muirfield. It’s commonly in the 90s in peak summer and has been getting more humid over the years, but that’s all of Ohio really

I live and work in Dublin and it’s becoming a better suburb than it once was. The Bridge Park area is newer and becoming a nice place to hang out. There’s always something going on there on the weekends. We also have easy access to major highways like 270 and 315 so it’s easy to get to other suburbs or downtown.

Housing is expensive as far as Ohio standards here. But if you’re coming from Manhattan it may not feel that way. Friend of mines sister moved here from Manhattan a couple years ago with her husband and kids. They bought a house but it was tough bc people are offering cash with no home inspection. Homes sell here fast like within a week of listing. As others said you might want to rent first.

Dublin does have a chip on their shoulder. They think they’re better than other suburbs. The golf tournament definitely is part of that elitism. People Who live west of the Scioto river are in what’s considered the richer part of town and there tends to be a certain mentality espoused by people who live there about those of us who live on the east side.

Also the “Dublin bubble” is a thing meaning people who were born and bred here often don’t like to venture out of Dublin to do anything social. Sure they’ll travel in the summer but it’s like they’re terrified of downtown.

Overall it’s a quiet nice safe place to live. Just gotta deal with the insufferable people who think they’re Irish during March every year.

I live here and every comment made me laugh. I'm also probably in the bottom percent of earners, but the bike paths are my biggest praise. You can go almost across the whole suburb without traveling on a main road. Food is off the charts with variety. Bridge Park is the new hang out spot. Majority of amenities are within a 15 min drive from anywhere in Dublin. Agreed about the Dublin moms group. You want to laugh all day, read those posts. Get an average car so you don't have to socialize with the a-holes. I can't think of anything to join specifically that will give you any exposure or people networking connections. Try a more general meetup type group and use that to split off to the people around you. It's a great suburb, but clearly there are some dipsh*ts out there being stupid and inconsiderate. Avoid them, you'll be fine.
