Residents are often referred to as “tight-knit” and “welcoming,” to some, but are also known for being a bit insular so it may take a bit to work your way in. Great place for families and people who like peace and quiet. Car dependent but convenient to other parts of S FL. Good schools (esp West Pines). Also surprisingly diverse (East Asian, Caribbean, Indian, Latino) which makes for good low-key food options. I lived in Miami (Coconut Grove) and like Pines a lot better.

Pembroke Creek is one of the premier family-friendly master planned communities in Pembroke Pines and the Ft. Lauderdale area. Lush landscaping throughout the neighborhood surrounds big custom homes. The school system is excellent and it’s just 30 mins from Miami or Ft. Lauderdale airports. It also has a beautiful community clubhouse with tennis and basketball courts and a pool for cooling off in the summer months. Eagle Creeks is another wonderful option. It’s an HOA neighborhood, close to an excellent hospital and some of the best schools in the entire region. Perhaps the most close-knit family-friendly neighborhood in the region.

Very cool. My sister lives just north of Grant Park by Oakland Cemetery.

So a couple things.. overall, the feel down here is very suburban. There is obviously a downtown area in downtown Fort Lauderdale but in my opinion, the apartments down there are very overpriced (similar to overpriced apartments in Midtown or Buckhead).

My recommendation for cities are many of what you named: Davie, Plantation, Sunrise, Weston, Miramar, and Pembroke Pines. Start there. These will give you that suburban feel (very much like a less-busy Sandy Springs).

Do you have a car? We know Marta is no NYC subway but at least it’s something. Down here, public transportation is very difficult to navigate. Not impossible but just very difficult so my recommendation is to have a car if that’s possible for you.

In terms of budget, I think you’ll be able to find a nice 1br/1ba for 1.7k - 2k. It may take some researching online but they’re out there.

I grew up there/Cooper city. It's really for young families or empty nesters.its the burbs, and as a kid I enjoyed - but that's also a different time when we'd ride our bikes everywhere and cell phones weren't.do prevalent. There are some local things to do like hang in the glades. But night life and breweries.youll be looking at heading to ftl/fat village or Miami.

The great thing about pines is it's pretty central to jumping on 595 or sawgrass/75/extension and getting there pretty quickly.

We have a lot of great parks and outdoor space, plus trash mountain. Pines highest point in the city. The food is starting to get better and some local solid spots, but nothing phenomenal in general.

School system is excellent depending on which one you are zoned for (

Otherwise, there is nothing there which would drive a young professional to live there.

I lived in Pines for a dozen years in the 80’s. It always been a place for families and never really had a night life or anything more than hundreds of restaurants that all those families go to. However, Pines is in the middle of many great places in other municipalities. If you’ve lived here so long you must know it is a car culture and people are used to driving wherever they need too. Pines isn’t the place to meet many young people. In south Florida it’s a money thing. Many places you’d hangout in cost.
